In 2001, Dassault Systemes decided to develop a Structure Application to respond to the need of the New US Navy Program called DDX . The result is an application dedicated to Shipbuilding Design, called SDD. But it is not stretching too much CATIA to use it to do others things than simply Shipbuilding.
You can access some videos to see SDD in Action --->here for the videos!
Here is a screenshot of the Application when editing on of the Plate of "Le Phare".
Creation of a Floor :

The Application allows to model precisely each individual floor and beams. The integration of SDD with the core geometrical Modeler of CATIA makes SDD a very powerful tool.
Creation of Beams under "Le Phare":
Here is one of another Command to create the Elevator Shaft of the Third Floor :Notice the Opening is "RED" versus invisible, In CATIA SDD the concept of "Opening" is modeled , this is NOT a simple Hole or a simple Boolean operation, it is an object which has its own behavior. For instance , you could select and copy an opening to another floor , with your mouse.
